On June 24, 1497, Genovese navigator and explorer John Cabot, together with 18 crew members and a small ship (the "Matthew"), landed on the coast of Newfoundland, a place that had never been seen by European eyes, as far as anyone knew then.

On the 25th of May, 2007, Tomer Sabag and Hadas Feldman will circumnavigate Newfoundland by kayak. Paddling along the costs of one of the most wind swept places on the planet, paddling beside whales and gigantic drifting icebergs flowing south from Greenland , landing for the night thru crashing freezing water surf on remote beaches with black and polar bears as their neighbors.

The paddle distance will be about 2700km and it is expected to be completed in approximately 80 days.

The expedition will start and end in the city of Corner Brook, which is
located on the west coast of the Island.
